Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a move cost?
Local moves are billed by the hour, starting at $109/hr for 2 movers and a fully-equipped truck. As a rough guide, a studio runs about $218, a 2-bedroom about $556, and a 3-bedroom about $872. Your written quote is based on your exact home, access, and date.
How is the price calculated, and when does the clock start?
You pay for the crew and truck by the hour. After the first hour we bill by the minute, so you only pay for the time actually used. We tell you upfront how travel time is handled and what the hourly rate is for your crew size, no meter games.
Is my estimate binding, or can it change?
Local moves are billed on the actual hours worked, and we give you an itemized written estimate before we start so there are no surprises. If you want a not-to-exceed cap, just ask and we will put it in writing.
Do you require a deposit?
We take a small refundable deposit to hold your date, and it comes straight off your final bill. Cancel 48 or more hours ahead and you get it back in full. Everything is in writing when you book.
How and when do I pay?
You pay when the job is finished, not before. We take all major cards, plus check or cash, and you sign off on the final total on site.
Do you expect a tip?
Tips are never expected and never added to your bill. If a crew went above and beyond, 10 to 15 percent split among them is typical in this area, cash or card. It is always your call.
What won't you move?
For safety and legal reasons we cannot take hazardous materials such as propane, paint, chemicals, or ammunition, plus perishable food, plants, and live animals. Tell us about anything unusual or high-value up front so we plan the right crew and gear.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We are a licensed and insured South Carolina household-goods mover, and your belongings stay with our own crew, never a broker. Ask for our license and insurance details anytime, and we will walk you through valuation and coverage options before you book.
What happens if something gets damaged?
We pad-wrap and secure everything to prevent it, but if something is damaged we document it on site and start a claim right away. We will explain your valuation options, basic coverage versus full-value protection, before your move so you know exactly how a claim is handled.
How far in advance should I book?
For local moves, 1 to 2 weeks is usually enough. For long-distance or peak season (summer and month-end), book 3 to 4 weeks ahead. Same-week moves are often available, so it never hurts to call.
Do you handle stairs, gate codes, and HOA move windows?
Yes. We plan around Fort Mill and Charlotte-area HOA move-in windows, gate and elevator access codes, and building loading-dock reservations ahead of time so nothing stalls on move day.
Can you move a piano, safe, or antiques?
Yes. Pianos, gun safes, antiques, and fine art are moved by trained specialists with the right dollies, straps, and padding, and custom crating when it is needed.
Do you offer packing and supplies?
We offer full-service or partial packing with quality boxes, wrap, and blankets, and we can pack just the fragile or high-value items if you would rather do the rest yourself.
Do you do long-distance and out-of-state moves?
Yes. Long-distance moves stay with your own dedicated crew and truck, no brokers or third-party handoffs, and are quoted by weight and distance with a confirmed delivery window.
Do you provide storage?
Yes. We offer clean, secure short-term and long-term storage with an itemized inventory, and we handle transport in and out when you are ready.
What if the move runs long?
Our crews work through normal weather and protect your floors and items with runners and pads. Since local moves are billed on actual time, if a job is running longer than estimated we flag it early so there are no end-of-day surprises.
Can I reschedule or cancel?
Yes. Reschedule or cancel with 48 or more hours notice and your deposit is fully refunded. The exact terms are spelled out in writing when you book.
